Although I’m not one that enjoys wearing underwear in my day to day life but when I step out of my house I need to feel comfortable and supported in what I wear under my clothes and I haven’t felt that way in a long time. It’s been a couple of years now that I have made the switched to a more sustainable lifestyle and I have been on the hunt for ethically made undergarments for quite some time now and so far, nothing has captured my attention until a company name Boody contacted me recently to try some of their eco activewear.
Boody was founded in 2011 in Sydney, Australia by two best friends who combined their passions for fashion and health to create an eco clothing brand with comfort, style and health at its core. Their mission is to provide their customers with modern, high quality basics that naturally fit who you are. All Boody garments use viscose made from bamboo which are produced in WRAP certified factories and all their fashion pieces are also PETA approved and certified. All bamboo involved in their production comes from FSC-certified forests that follow FSC- defined best practices throughout the production and supply chain.
The bamboo used to make the yarn for Boody bamboo eco wear is grown in China by Hebei Jigao Chemical Fiber Company. They hold the patent on the process for turning bamboo into yarn. Boody yarn is certified organic by OCIA (The Organic Crop Improvement Association). The bamboo is grown in accordance with the international organic standard of OCIA / IFOAMand the USDA National Organic Program, so as to ensure each bamboo stalk is of 100% natural growth and free of any chemical pesticides. All fiber produced at their facility in China is Oeko-Tex 100 certified. This means that the finished fiber has been tested for any chemicals that may be harmful to a person’s health and has been found to contain no trace chemicals that pose any health threat whatsoever. - Source: boodywear.com
Conscious consumers are committed to sustainable produced products and this brand did not disappoint when it comes to well priced comfortable, simple, soft and sustainable eco fashion alternatives. They offer different range of fashion pieces from underwear, leggings, bralettes, socks, activewear and so much more for women, men and babies.
What I like about the fabric is the level of quality, it’s breathable and so soft on the skin that you barely remember you’re wearing underclothing. Their collection of everyday sustainable basics comes in black and different shades of nude. Unfortunately, when it comes to the bras, I just wished they had an option to be adjusted in the back for better support as I was blessed with voluptuous breast. With Bamboo Eco Wear, you’ll feel and look good without harming the planet. With the holiday season approaching, what a perfect way to introduce ethically made clothing to your family and friends by gifting them one of their earth-friendly activewear and basic essentials.
